Hymns, Quotes, and Writings From & For a Believer’s Heart

Have you ever taken time to thumb through a hymnal? In them you can find some of the most beautiful, heartfelt poetry of children of God from days gone by. In many church circles hymns appear to be long forgotten. I, however, believe they should actually have a place in every believer’s life. Their message causes one to focus on God, our need for His love, mercy, grace, and salvation.  I love what A.W. Tozer had to say about the hymns and  writings of those forefathers of the Christian faith.

So, with that, I will will periodically share some hymns, quotes, and writings from some of God’s faithful of yesteryear. To start with, here is one of my favorites; Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing by Robert Robinson.

Though this hymn was written in 1757 it is, in my opinion, timeless. It’s message should ring true for every believer

Can you relate to this hymn?

Is there a verse(s) that speaks particularly to your heart?

How do you feel about hymns?

Until next time!

    1. Hello Donna,
I first heard it a number of years ago. It wasn’t at church, but I can’t remember exactly where I was; I have loved it ever since. It is my number 1 favorite hymn. I am glad you enjoyed the post. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts 🙂
