Blindsided

This post will be brief. I have not posted for the past few weeks due to unforeseen family events. My father passed away a couple of weeks ago. This was something totally unforeseen; it completely blindsided all of us. It feels like I am in a dream and just need to wake up; “I can’t believe it” is a phrase that continually comes to mind. My dad is the strongest man I know! We have never seen him sick, other than the occasional cold. Even though 74 years old he had no health problems, and none of us expected him to go anywhere anytime soon! It is just hard to wrap my head around this.

Still, I rejoice because we know where daddy is. I know that he is more alive and happier than he has ever been. He made it, and it cannot be taken away from him. His struggle is over; no more temptation, no more disappointments or problems. He is with the Savior in the place that was prepared for him. My dad has joined that great cloud of witnesses, and I am overjoyed for him. I miss him more than I thought possible; however, I cannot wait to see daddy again soon, and I know it will not be a long wait.

I will return to posting regularly soon. My head has not been clear enough to write lately, but I shall return shortly.

This year has certainly started off with a bang, but I appreciate your hanging in there with me.

God bless you all!

  1. Dear Juanita, how heartbreaking. I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear daddy. I thank God that he was a Christian, for we do not grieve like those with no hope. As you say, you already know he is in heaven where there is no more sorrow, tears or pain and one day we will all gather together. What a day of rejoicing that will be! May you sense the Lord Jesus holding you close and wiping every tear until that day. Love and hugs to you.
